An elastomer with first-rate resistance to weathering and ozone – like FKMs – FFKMs are used to manufacture the likes of o-rings, gaskets, seals and fuel pipes [Products] that need to withstand extreme environments and aggressive chemical processing. Though it has poor low temperature properties, this super synthetic rubber smashes its counterparts out of the park with resistance of more than 320°C. Kalrez® is another trademark of DuPont and has ISO 9000 and AS 9100 registered production facilities.
Ideal for manufacturing rubber gaskets, o-rings and seals, fluoroelastomers, fluorocarbons or fluoro rubber boast a strong resistance to chemicals, oils and fuels with exceptional performance at high temperatures. Fluroelastomer rubber is also known as Viton®, the trademark of DuPont Performance Elastomers who first brought it to market. Known for its flame resistance, Viton is categorised under the ASTM D1418 and ISO 1629 designation of FKM.
